  indirect    : the men said that he would have to mend the wall that.        

•direct       :  he told me “I will go to semarang tomorrow”

 Indirect    : he told me that he would go to semarang the next day.

•direct       : my sister said to me “ I don’t like banana”

 Indirect    : my sister said to me that he didn’t like banana.

•direct       : they told me  “we have bought a radio”  

 Indirect    : they told me that they had bought a radio.

•direct       : she told me “ don’t stop here”

 Indirect    : she told me not to stop here.
